Description

Folic Acid Tablets 5mg provide therapeutic-dose folate supplementation, which is essential for DNA synthesis, red blood cell formation, and neural tube development in early pregnancy. This higher 5mg dose (as opposed to the standard 400mcg) is prescribed for women with elevated risk of neural tube defects and for treatment of megaloblastic anaemia.

Key Uses: Megaloblastic anaemia treatment, pre-conception folate supplementation for high-risk pregnancies (epilepsy, previous NTD, BMI >30), prevention of neural tube defects, folate deficiency from malabsorption or drug-induced causes, pregnancy supplementation.

Composition: Folic Acid 5mg per tablet. Pack of 30 tablets.

Dosage: As prescribed. Pre-conception and early pregnancy: typically 5mg daily. Anaemia treatment: as directed by physician.
