Description
Gaviscon Antacid Liquid contains Sodium Alginate and Sodium Bicarbonate. When it reacts with stomach acid, it forms a thick, stable alginate raft that floats on the surface of the stomach contents, preventing acid reflux back into the oesophagus while providing immediate relief from heartburn and indigestion symptoms.
Key Uses: Heartburn, acid reflux (GERD), indigestion, sour stomach, reflux in pregnancy, hiatus hernia symptoms, post-meal acid discomfort.
Composition: Sodium Alginate + Sodium Bicarbonate antacid suspension. 200ml bottle. Peppermint or aniseed flavour.
Dosage: Adults and children over 12: 10–20ml (2–4 teaspoons) after meals and at bedtime, or as directed. Shake well before use.
Note: Safe during pregnancy — one of the preferred antacids for reflux in pregnancy. Suitable for long-term use. Low sodium version available for sodium-restricted patients.
